Song Analysis of SWIFTGRON

For swiftgron only stan..

This is my theory why 1989 is an album about taylor and dianna love story, from start to end.. 1989 -taylor 1986-dianna

The album cover - taylor wearing a seagull- dianna said in one interview about a song called "lesbian seagull".. -they are both weird. they can communicate via songs. they had a lot of codes that just the 2 of them understands. -polaroid theme of 1989 is just swiftgron

Welcome to new york

in the liner note: we begin our story in new york. -im thinking about the "holy ground" is the empire state building. where taylor have a photo on the **floor and post it on her announcement of 1989, (she really went there to take photo to use for her 1989 announcement).. thats the 1st day and their story begins.taylor explained about the line boys and boys, girls and girls was inspired when the same sex marriage was legalized in NY, i think shes not lying about it. coz thats june 2011, im thinking they were official around oct or nov 2011. and the lyrics is parrallel to her song 22, when they met, they are both hearbroken, "making fun of our exes"..

New romantics

-this song similar to 22.. during taylors 22nd birthday, taylor celebrated her birthday, like a week long, and even worried that her neighbor will complain about the noise. "the best people in life are free".. sounds like she really having a great party with her new gf and friends. they share same circle of friends.. -dianna stars in a movie the romantics (2010)..

You are in love/wildest dreams

this song has a similar energy as everything has change and treacherous. the falling inlove stage, their sneaking out and early stage of relationship.. -YAIL was already recorded according to jack around 2013, even before the vsfs 2013.. -the wildest dream MV screams dianna to me. the lion is a dianna reference, "aslan" to be specific, shes a big fan of that book and even had a tatoo aboit it. the old holywood is very dianna.

Out of the woods

-"if life gets too good, darling it scares you", this is from taylors poem.. when their relationship is getting deeper taylor started to feel anxious or scared. esp both of them are the apple of the eye of media during that time.

I know places

same energy as OOTW, but taylor here is hopeful, that their relationship can still work coz she know places.. it can be interpreted that as long as they dont see doing PDA in public they are good and stays in the closet..

-blank space

-one way to protect her secret relationship was to beard. she bearded connor and harry. connor to cover their hyanis port and also connected on rhode island house, both dianna and taylor had meeting with connor grandma. i think the rhode island is a grand gesture of taylor for dianna, im sure dianna knows rebekah harkness/betty and her story, rebekah is one of the pioneer in ballet,both of them are book nerd. and dianna is a ballet dancer. dance teacher and instructor. both dianna and rebekah has a lot in common.even they look similar in some photos. and then the famous harry potter. joke.. 🤣

lyrics - "coz were young and were reckless"- the chorus is about dianna and some verse is about bearding.

in Red album, theres a lot of ups and down in their relationship, like babe, better man, the last time, their relationship is on and off, their both busy, the distance, etc, and if your relationship is hidden or secret its probably complicated, i believe during their time OFF, dianna would hook up in "some other girl", but taylor dont like it, hence the babe and better man song. and taylor in "style" also admits she do the same. -she wrote this love after she came back from paris. obviously theyre back together.

-how you get the girl

in 1989 tour, taylor swift sing the lyrics "and you open up the door, and said I AM insane".. you can find it in utube, there is a 4k version and its very clear. taylor is the one who made a mistake this time and tried to win her girl back. both of them made mistakes in their relationship and its normal. what i mean normal is, even us normal persons, we had ups and down in our relationships, thats why i saw their relationship as real.. -this song was after taylor and harry ended their PR. and taylor go straight to dianna. january 2013

All you had to do was stay

like feb-april 2013, their relationship is getting more complicated, the twittergate on feb, the outing rumor, swiftgron is already loud at that moment. and both of their teams are stressing their relationship. you can see both of them are trying and trying to make their relationship work but, dianna was so fed up with taylors team and eventually gave up on april.. you can see on diannas old tumbler, feb shes still hoping, and accept that they will keep their love hidden. but her post in april, is a giving up post.

I wish you would

dianna bought a house in LA somewhere april 2013, they are already on break that time. taylor is mad when dianna gave up on her, but taylor said " i miss you too much to be mad anymore".. i think somewhere may 2013 up until oct 2013 they are still trying to fix things up.

Style

i think this was first inspired by just another girl MV that dianna starred in killers, the song tells how their relationship, on and off, both made mistakes and when they are crashing down they come back everytime. and also the instyle photo of dianna in james dean inspired photo shoot.

bad blood

i guess something big happened during nov or dec of 2013, base on the bad blood music video, theyre a team until selena(dianna) betrayed her and "take the money", and throws taylor out and crash in the "getaway car"... im still not sure what happen. but its always a rumor eversince that everytime taylor had a serious relationship, her teams allegedly doing everything to separate them. -im confused with bad blood, coz in the "getaway car " song taylor is the one who took the money and stole the keys of the getaway car...

Clean

obviously taylor is on 10 months sober.. maybe because for 10 months they both try and try to fix things but still not working. clean is a wistful song to me, she never said bad about their relationship in that song about dianna, it looks like the reason of the breakup is outside forces. -the lyrics "just because your clean, dont mean you dont miss it." soundlike she dont have any choice but to move on.. -the clean visual speaks a lot, there is the empire state, london, a visual with woods (im thinking big sur or a Loughrigg Tarn reference), falls, water, beach (hyanis port reference).

Shake it off

obviously the liner says: sHe dance to forget him... -and made a whole damn music video referencing dianna, im surprise she didnt add the trapeze. 🤣. but the trampoline to me really stands out, same as dianna when she jumps on her cheerleading outfit in glee.

Wonderland

last but not the least.. taylor is really unhinged when she release this one but thankfully she did, one of the best proof swiftgron exist. -wonderland is basically the whole story of 1989..

all the "so it goes" are connected and i think happened on the same day. During winter, they went in the bar on a date, and went home, they move the furniture (crowded room), so that they could dance, and while theyre dancing, its snowing outside ( you two are dancing in the snow globe round and round).. thats the night they coudnt quite forget. same visual of the lover MV, theyre dancing inside the house while snowing outside..

DWOHT- i believe belongs to 1989, she already wrote the dwoht before the kissgate, seen in her polaroid pic with lyrics. taylor also liked a post in tumbler telling that dwoht has connection in one scene in OOTW when shes frozen and her one hand is tied up.. this is taylor pining and regrets, the whole song is her reminiscing the "night that they coudnt quite forget"..

many songs in reputation and lover are connected with red and 1989.. why??? you know the answer.. and the folklore and evermore is their journey from 2013 to 2016... Red to evermore is their entire story..

I do also believe Wildest Dreams about Kaylor. There is lyrics

The Taylor Swift Lyrical Universe - Swiftgron

This post was originally meant to be an addition to this post called "Champagne Problems is about Dianna." from u/npeanutbutter43 as more "proof" that it really is about Dianna, but it went off the rails. Ever since I read this theory I couldn't get it out of my head and because I have been listening to a lot of Taylor lately, some theories started to click, so I will try to connect multiple Swiftgron songs into a storyline or something and we'll see how it goes.

But first, for this alternative universe I will take Cardigan, Champagne Problems, Betty and The 1 as songs about Dianna. Champagne Problems was already covered in the post and the 1 is already speculated to be about Dianna - "I hit the Sunday matinée".

Now, you may say "why is Cardigan about Dianna?". Here are 2 things that "confirm" it for me.

Dianna was "caught" listening to Cardigan on spotify. There were gaylors saying "she's crazy. That song is about Karlie", but is it though? I think Dianna would know if a song is about her and might hint at it. Plus, according to this comment, she was also listening to Wonderland. And we all know who Wonderland is about.

It is a sister song to Betty and this post from u/csl86ncco connects the two. Now, again - why is Betty about Dianna? Well, Taylor posted this on her birthday with the caption ‘iTs mY BiRtHdAY & I jUsT wAnNa DaNcE’ and if you only take the capitalized letters you get "HY DIANNA U R BETTY". Now, is this reaching? Absolutely. Do I care? Not really, because it works for my theory. Plus, if she wanted to make it "HEY" instead of "HY" she couldn't with that exact quote because there is an "E" less.

I also want to add that I see the songs from evermore & folklore as real feeling in fictional scenarios. So, for example, I see Betty as an entirely made up scenario of teenagers inspired from real life events and feelings.

Anyways, this post is going to focus on songs written after the break up and how they are connected. I went off a little bit while researching and fell into the Red rabbit hole, but if I were to add those songs as well I think this post would be way too long.

Thanks to this poor gaylor on the main sub from 4 years ago, I got that, apparently, "Dianna was always out of Glee shooting late, and it was well known that she would go to Tay's house around this time."

Hmmmmm I wonder if there are any similarities in our situation. I feel like this fits perfectly with the idea that they thought they were going to last, but deep down they knew they were lying to themselves and eventually someone had to let go (Taylor).

We can't pretend that this relationship had perfect conditions. From Taylor's perspective, there was her reputation on the line. Let's be honest for a second - if she came out in 2013/14, she never would've become this big. That's the sad reality. We can pretend people are accepting, but they are not. So, these are some lines that hint on other forces influencing the relationship.

I'm basically crazy at this point and this part might make you a little sad, but if these songs (from the last 2 albums) truly are about Dianna (which, let's be honest, is questionable) then there are definitely hints that Taylor is open to the idea of going back to Dianna (and vice versa).

For those who are not native English speakers like me, "leave well enough alone" means to allow something to stay as it is because doing more might make things worse. But Taylor never does this, so going back is probably a bad idea, she knows that, but she's not leaving this relationship alone (which we see with evermore and folklore really well).

Artful Fogers - Update #3

It’s been ages since I updated my novel project, so here we go. Chapter two is called Bone Pigment (German original: Knochenpigment).

In this chapter we get a deeper glimpse into the relationship between Edwin and Jack and all its weird quirks and toxicness. Plus, we get a little bit of angstyness by Jack. As a treat.

He left the apartment at eight thirteen. Exactly nine hours later his key crunched in the apartment door again and heavy boot steps marched under my studio - except on Wednesdays and Fridays when he followed his colleagues into the pub. I had watched him several times, hidden behind an ale, his silhouette in the dim light between the other policewomen, how they gossiped and laughed and bumped against their shoulders. A pint of Kilkenny, half a strawberry stout, then a rhubarb spritzer until his cheeks turned pink and his eyes watered behind lenses. We'd never been to the pub together.

Just kidding, of course we get even more angst from Jack! Ha! Because what could be worse than your adult brother not returning home in time!

At twenty past ten a transparent layer glazed on his lips, sleep glued his eyes. His brittle hands put the dishes into the washer before he disappeared into the bathroom. At half past ten his breathing calmed and he sank into fog. But that Thursday he didn’t come home. As the sun dipped behind skyscrapers, I left the apartment. Orange rays hit the asphalt, bouncing off car paints. The hazelnut trees of our avenue blurred into black silhouettes. At nine o'clock I turned over one last time before disappearing from the street. But his sedan was still missing.

Also, the relationship between Jack and his mother (whom he tells this story to, as I may or may not have told already, I cannot remember tbh) is a rather complicated one which I started to explore more in depth in this chapter. But at this point its only glimpses into it because we aren’t too far into the story and Jack is not quite ready to deep dive into this part of his life.

Drops manifested beneath lantern cones, wetted my slider cap and ran down my cheeks. I did not wipe them, instead endured them. They moistened my lips. Taste of moss. Cars echoed across the wet surface, roaring into the deserted alley. With every step I took, the strange wallet pulled down my coat pocket as if to remind me of its presence. At a crossroads, I released two twenty-pound notes and a credit card from its interior, carried it between my middle and index finger, before releasing it ten steps later - an unnecessary habit that dripped down to my bones. Like your prayers. How you crossed yourself as soon as the tea maker whistled, how you breathed psalms with your movements.

Also, I uncovered a motive of Jack I never thought of before when writing this scene but it gave the story another dimension I really like.

Gold flows through the veins of the royal family, the ether passes through their lungs, all atoms of the cosmos rush through their nerve tracts. They are not like us. To you, they were untouchable - beings who bathed in roses, drank nectar and ate ambrosia. As untouchable as your goddamn religion. I wanted to shatter their shell, to prove that their surface was made of glass that would crumble as soon as my dirty fingertips leaned against it.

To end this update, two new characters are introduced in this chapter. Of course, there is Ezra, the king’s heir in this dimension of the United Kingdom (because this ain’t a royal family fanfiction folks I’m sorry).

He is the softest character in this whole novel. So. Soft.

He was more inconspicuous than all the press videos and cover pictures had made him appear, sunk between his accompaniments and the sofa set like an extra. His face was oval, his nose square, his eyebrows bushy. When he moved his head, shreds of light danced on his red-blond hair as if he had bathed it in oil; it parted on the left and fell in thick strands over his ears. I knew he had grey eyes, three shades lighter than the rings underneath, and I knew his lashes were barely visible. I knew that dimples appeared as soon as he grinned. I knew every detail.

Then, there is Lucia Clifford, Ezras head of security, who is kind of the opposite of him. But they are both queer as hell! And we stan queer characters!

She was petite, wore bordeaux hair in a loose bun. Under a tight black dress, her ribs protruded like fingertips pressing against a canvas. When she listened to the prince, she nodded as if to a silent beat, her movements gallant as if she were in the corps de ballet, always careful to maintain the unity of the scene. Her face was hidden by shadows and palm fans, but her form got burned into me. As if I'd seen her before.

Driving Style: she’s a fantastic driver—fast, daring, drives stick-shift in heels, cuts tight corners on her motorcycle, she’s fab, best driver of my characters (except maybe for Eva, but that’s cuz Eva has heightened reflexes lol); does have a tendency to speed, but doesn’t do it except on isolated roads

Conflicts: oh gosh where to begin—the fact that she wants the world to be this good, ideal place where she has the ability to help it, but the reality that class differences/prejudices in other areas are very real and very hard to overcome; her own desire to do more with her life, but knowing that rejecting her family’s values would not be good, and she really loves her family; navigating being a soft woman in a world that otherwise respects hard, sharp ones

Music: girly pop, MUSICALS—she’s a huge musical gal, sings in the shower all the time. Loves taylor swift, knows that its problematic to love taylor swift, but does so in that well #feminism way that’s also lowkey problematic ahaha. Her iTunes is mostly musicals and pop and some classical music too, she likes ballet music.

Books: classics and romance novels; also some trashy YA romance; went through a John Green phase in her high school years; her favourite book is The Bell Jar. She also reads those like “Oprah Book of the Month” club books and enjoys them. Gets most of her reading list from bestsellers lists.

Magazines: VOGUE aka the Bible; also Cosmo and Marie Claire and other high-fashion magazines; whatever the French equivalent of Time is, but also Time; started a subscription to the New Yorker whilst she was in NYC and keeps up with it

Foods: has a sweet tooth—loves chocolate. Chocolate-covered strawberries are her favorite. She thinks she can handle spicy, but she can’t really.

Drinks: Margaritas are her cocktail of choice; she loves champagne and lattes

Animals: cats! Also she loves swans and thinks its so romantic that they mate for life, but she won’t admit that lol

Sports: follows Formula One racing tbh and also fencing

Jewelry: very classy, never overdoes herself with jewelry; simple pendants and studs

Games: played the Sims a lot, played racing games with her brothers, Mario Kart fan too

Household furnishings: everything is impeccably decorated, lots of pastels and golds, there’s a big window in the living room (which has like white furniture and soft lights everywhere, big white rug on the floor, lots of throw pillows), her room has a big bed with lots of pillows and her closet is organized by type of clothes and colour

Relationship with Family: huge Daddy’s girl, but Daddy is also very busy and not super around all the time and she doesn’t really confide in him; very close to older brother, Nic, sometimes they feel like they are the only people in the world they can trust; younger brother has a strained relationship bc he can be kinda douche but they love each other; relationship with mother is---complicated, they are very similar and often butt heads because of their differences though and Lilian thinks she knows what’s best etc etc and Daisy is just starting to see her mom in a new light

Career: journalism student, editor-in-chief of campus magazine: Social

Dream Career: editor in chief of a fashion magazine that also has like a huge philanthropy side

Dream Life: said career, has not given much thought to the like actual life part of it, but ideally she’d like to be married to the love of her life and have two kids as well
